Facebook is one of the social media to actually have an interface in French.

Even though it does, lots of people still use the English words – it’s trendy in French to drop an English word here and there! Yet, specific Facebook terms in French do exist, and this special French Facebook vocabulary is used by many people in France.

1. Un “J’aime” – a like
2. Laisser un pouce bleu – to leave a thumb up
3. Aimer – to like
4. Liker – to like – Very very used. Pronounce the “i” as in “eye”. We conjugate it as an “er” verb, tu likes, and it is also used in the past “j’ai liké”…
5. Un like – a like, as in “tu as combien de likes sur cette photo” ? (How many likes did you get on this picture?)
