Bonjour Camille and Olivier
I am enjoying your A Moi books. I did buy the beginning level. I knew it might be easy for me but since it had been a long time since I had used my French I wanted to review.I spoke French (Canadian) as a child. We had no TV. Then when I started school French language was used in the morning and English in the afternoon. So I learned to read in both French and English at the same time. As I grew up things changed I continued to study French into College but didn’t use the spoken part aas much except to speak to my Grandparents who all spoke French.
Now in my 70’s we have planned a trip to France this September. This is not our first trip there but I want to understand more. and maybe do a little speaking. It is starting to come back. I hope to get to the intermediate books before we leave.
I’m also enjoying your daily emails.
Merci

I do love the lessons. I haven’t gotten too far with them yet because of a demanding work assignment I had to prioritize. However, that is finished, and I can now go back and restart the lessons. I do love how they are arranged, with the ability to turn the translations on and off. I also like being able to listen at three different speeds. So far I’ve mostly listened to the enunciated, but I will certainly include the regular speed as I become more comfortable.
I also love the cultural information, especially about holidays and special celebrations in France each month!

Happy with it so far. The audio approach is definitely better than anything else I’ve tried. Also very much appreciate your careful explanations of grammar points.

The quality of the materials is outstanding and very user friendly. I listen to the audio when driving and then revise the grammar on my laptop. I value the emphasis on contemporary spoken French, both pronunciation and vocabulary. Camille’s grammar explanations are very clear. Both my confidence and my pronunciation have improved from working through the Beginner level and I have now purchased the Intermediate level. I cannot recommend French Today more highly.

I have found the teaching method used by French Today to be extremely helpful. I had been studying rather diligently via an on-line app for about 9 months before I began the first book of A Moi Paris. Although I had learned a fair amount of vocabulary and some grammar on the app, I was doing very poorly at pronunciation. Going through the exercises in the story of A Moi Paris has helped me more in just a few weeks than the many months I had already spent. My wife and I are leaving to spend a couple of weeks in Provence next month, but upon return I plan to continue using your method with the aim of becoming conversational. I heartily recommend the French Today method!

I was learning French since June of last year, quite intensely (~30 minutes each day), using an aged (1993 vintage) book: Living Language FRENCH COURSEBOOK. While I have learned the basic grammar and pronunciation, I was not able to understand spoken French… which is why I have bought your courses, both L1–L2 and L3–L4. Presently I am nearing the end of L1 and am happy with the course: Your method works for me: My understanding of spoken French has decidedly improved. Furthermore, you have put order where I had only salad, e.g., when to use “en” or “au”, “de” or “du”, etc. I am old school, though… meaning I would have been very frustrated had I started learning French from your L1 course, i.e., without any “pre-learning”: Understanding the spoken story in each lesson only very little would have made me very nervous. This is not criticism, for I myself do not know the solution to that dilemma. What I would like to suggest, however, is to increase the number of lessons in each course.
Thank you again for making learning French an exciting adventure for me. I likewise welcome your daily e-mail messages.

I spent so much time in classrooms, learning French, and finally gave up a few years ago: A short visit to France showed me just how little my time in class had served me and just how much time I had wasted. My advice to all: Do not waste your time with the education system in England. You will never learn the language you will never be able to use what they teach you.
I have completed the Beginner Level 2 course with À Moi Paris and feel that I have finally achieved some real progress with the language. I am now writing letters to friends with some degree of fluency and can say that I am finally benefitting from the time I have spent with it. The online tests offered by ‘French Today’ have allowed me to assess my degree of comprehension, particularly at the higher speed of native speech: I am not there yet, but am hoping that as I progress to the next level, intermediate, that I will genuinely find I am able to visit France with some degree of confidence that I can converse with French people and that they may even understand what I wish to communicate, which was never the case with all those years of classroom French.

This is a very well-designed course for picking up French, particularly for someone who might have done a bit at school, but lost confidence. It’s progressive and stretches you just enough with each step. It’s like having a conversation with a patient, French friend who teaches you whilst chatting.
I looking forward to go to France to try it out…

French Today is helpful and easy to understand, with good customer support via email.
Two significant complaints:
There is no phone support. It feels like an automated system from a large corporation without a live person.
Also, the testimonials on your site are interminable. I understand there is positive feedback which is helpful to see but the unduly length makes the perception much less positive.
Thank You for helping improve my skills !

Thank you for your review, Jas.
Because we sell audiobooks throughout the whole world, and we are just a 2-person company, phone support is not realistically feasible. We answer support emails, usually within 24 hours and often much faster.
As far as “testimonials on your site are interminable”, we’re sorry our customers like our products so much. :-) Like an Amazon or any online store, we post all customer reviews, but you don’t have to read them all! ;-) Cheers. Olivier

I have been very pleased with the way the course has been introduced to a beginner like me. I have set my plan up to follow the course and feel very confident so far. The support is also very good,so much help available.
