First of all, I want to congratulate you on a truly outstanding language learning audiobook app. It is so convenient and works so well. Nice and clean and easy to use. The availability of multiple speaking speeds/styles is brilliant. Sometimes I just listen (and repeat) – this is really nice to be able to do while performing some chores. Sometimes I read and take notes or do the exercises in written form.

I have collected many of your courses over the years, some before the app was available. So much great material! I’m still working through the Á Moi Paris series.

P.S. If you came out with a flash cards enhancement for drilling with each chapter vocabulary, I would love that too.

I am really enjoying the à Moi Paris Audiobook series that you have sent to me. I like the format and the options for slow comprehension and then normal speed.
I am trying ,as you suggested, to read and listen to the French and to read the English as little as possible.
Your emphasis on the modern spoken French is particularly helpful as I often miss words that are ‘run’ together and become unrecognisable.

I also like the easy use of the program as I can come back to the lesson where I left it.
Time as always is my enemy as I am still working !!
    Meilleur Voeux.

PS perhaps in the future I could organise a direct conversation with you on line as I am still very shy about conversing in French as I have little opportunity ?

French Today is such an enjoyable way to (re)learn French!
I spent years studying French in school, and acquired a love of the language, but no fluency. After decades of disuse, I decided to try again to learn to actually SPEAK French. Taking Camille’s advice, I started with Level 1. I’ve been following her excellent suggestions on how to best use the audiobooks. The clarity of the presentation has allowed me to very quickly remember what I had previously known. And best of all, within a very short time, my aural comprehension has vastly improved, and my spoken French is improving daily.
The additional features, such as emailed tips. blogs and stories, add variety and interest to the experience.
Thank you again to Camille and her family for such an excellent product!

The audio books that I have purchased at French Today are superb. They are so well organized and the audio is incredibly helpful for improving your pronunciation and listening comprehension. I am so grateful for finding these materials. And, they fun. I knew they would be good because the French Today website free material has been incredibly helpful to me. Most impressive, is how well the technology of the audiobook and app are. I use them on all my devices: my ipad, my iphone and my desktop.

Camille and Olivier, you have the best approach to teaching how to speak spoken French and not how to pronounce each and every word, it is not the same. Your causal approach is very structured and a top-down presentation with lots of exercises and being a 30+ year retired business college instructor – I appreciate you concern for each student.

If you try to converse in any language using word phonetic pronunciation people would have a difficult time understanding what you are saying. It’s like talking with first grader and not like with an adult.

My approach was to be totally immersed in everything not only the entire French language, but also about France and that is how I started learning French which is exactly everything you cover in your L1 & L2. I have saved every email since 12/12/2020.

I have over 300+ hours of French related saved topics that have been researched which focuses not only on the spoken language but includes lessons, newspapers, magazines, movies on youtube (learning how to speak French), songs, poems, and it is growing.

I have many additional French resources which includes 8 different teaching sources, the country, life style, food, housing, tracking the rebuilding of Notre-Dame de Paris, moving, becoming an expat, buying a house, French wineries, and everything else about France and it is growing.

As I said before, Camille your approach is superb and very worthy of 5 stars!!!!!

Camille and Olivier thank you so much for all of your work and effort!!!!

Thanks to French Today, I think I can actually navigate my way around in French-speaking countries. I’m 73 years old and absorbing another language isn’t easy, but with the audiobooks and drills it’s absolutely fun. I highly recommend Camille’s teaching method.

Great way to get started in French. Camille explains grammar and phases in English. The stories follow like a TV series and are entertaining to follow. Listening to and repeating stories, new vocabulary and Q/A about the stories in audio helps a lot to improve pronunciation and listening comprehension. I use it while commuting to work in my car and am up to L6. Now I see there is 7&8. I put the story, vocab or Q/A on repeat so I can get to the point of reproducing the sentences, vocab and answers from memory. It works. I used the same method to achieve fluency in Japanese years ago. Although to thoroughly do that, one does eventually need to go live in the county and use the language EVERYDAY for some years. Nevertheless, this series will get you started on the right path and give you a foundation, so you can ask questions and even strike up a conversation in French with confidence. Camille places an emphasis on modern French, as spoken in the capital, so you won’t sound like or only understand what comes out of traditional text books.

The stories are well written, are modern and are enjoyable to listen to. The ability to read the French text in addition to listening provides guidance and completes the learning experience. The variable listening speed is delightful and reassuring. The speed of the language becomes a challenge rather than a fear. The explanation of the learning method helpful. The theoretical, grammatical underpinnings of the French language are good and understandable. I am very happy with this purchase and feel more secure in understanding the language.

I have really been enjoying this series! I listen to one chapter most days. I first listen to the enunciated recording (slowest) while reading through the English translation. Then I listen to the normal recording while following along with only the French text. Finally, I listen to the “street French” (modern/fastest) recording without any text. It has really improved my comprehension. I will also repeat the text aloud to help with my pronunciation. The study guide that accompanies each chapter has been very helpful for explaining grammar rules, etc. In addition to Camille’s YouTube videos and Facebook articles, I highly recommend the audiobooks as an engaging way to learn French!
