Great way to get started in French. Camille explains grammar and phases in English. The stories follow like a TV series and are entertaining to follow. Listening to and repeating stories, new vocabulary and Q/A about the stories in audio helps a lot to improve pronunciation and listening comprehension. I use it while commuting to work in my car and am up to L6. Now I see there is 7&8. I put the story, vocab or Q/A on repeat so I can get to the point of reproducing the sentences, vocab and answers from memory. It works. I used the same method to achieve fluency in Japanese years ago. Although to thoroughly do that, one does eventually need to go live in the county and use the language EVERYDAY for some years. Nevertheless, this series will get you started on the right path and give you a foundation, so you can ask questions and even strike up a conversation in French with confidence. Camille places an emphasis on modern French, as spoken in the capital, so you won’t sound like or only understand what comes out of traditional text books.

The stories are well written, are modern and are enjoyable to listen to. The ability to read the French text in addition to listening provides guidance and completes the learning experience. The variable listening speed is delightful and reassuring. The speed of the language becomes a challenge rather than a fear. The explanation of the learning method helpful. The theoretical, grammatical underpinnings of the French language are good and understandable. I am very happy with this purchase and feel more secure in understanding the language.

I have really been enjoying this series! I listen to one chapter most days. I first listen to the enunciated recording (slowest) while reading through the English translation. Then I listen to the normal recording while following along with only the French text. Finally, I listen to the “street French” (modern/fastest) recording without any text. It has really improved my comprehension. I will also repeat the text aloud to help with my pronunciation. The study guide that accompanies each chapter has been very helpful for explaining grammar rules, etc. In addition to Camille’s YouTube videos and Facebook articles, I highly recommend the audiobooks as an engaging way to learn French!

My wife and I purchased French Today’s À Moi Paris L1-L8.

We’ve found Camille’s explanation of French language topics far more clear than either our classes at Alliance Française or the Cosmopolite books we’re using in class.

Camille’s explanations are in English and are concise, and understandable.

I always wanted to learn a foreign language. I love to read, and was always looking up french words and phrases. I decided to give it a try.

I have a lot of reference material, but was spending a large amount of time online for pronunciation. I am really enjoying my audio lessons.

I am looking forward to your other lessons that are available.

Having tried Rosetta Stone and found progress difficult due to having no translations and explanations whatsoever, I am finding frenchtoday so much easier to use. The study guides really aid understanding and the exercises reinforce learning. The ability to listen to French spoken at different speeds and including ‘street French’ is a great help. In addition, the regular emails and links to blogs are good for expanding knowledge of the language, colloquialisms and customs etc, whilst always maintaining a high level of interest.

Excellent! What more can be said….

My wife and I have tried the market leading programmes spending a lot (£££), and they were useless! they did not teach grammar and were not well structured.

I read about FrenchToday on a review website and thought we would give it a go. Money well spent!

We have now purchased the whole A Moi Paris Method series (1-8) and have nearly completed level 2 so far. We love the stories and the gentle structured way that they introduce concepts and nouns/verbs. Level two starts to ramp-up the learning, and we are very confident in understanding simple French and are very much looking forward to completing the whole series. The levels take a lot longer than you think! don’t think you will be fluent in a few months, because you will not. We study about 1-1.5 hours every day and get through about 1-2 chapters a week on average, dependant on difficulty.

The product is very well thought out and teaches grammar concepts, and speaking as you would hear it in France, as opposed to school French.

highly recommended (UK Couple in our mid-50’s).
