Today it is Friday and Glenda, the French immersion student I have for one week, tells me that it is her birthday.
I decide to surprise her and I organize a small dining âapĂ©ririfâ. I take this opportunity to invite some friends because all the occasions are good to party!

They all agree and look forward to coming tonight at 8 PM.
Meanwhile, we are going to go together to visit the castle of Pierrefonds.

I explain to Glenda while we drive through the big forest of CompiĂšgne that âthe Oiseâ, the department where we are, was the hunting ground of the kings of France.
Elle me demande :
She asks me:
Is it still possible to hunt here?
Yes, of course, there are still organized hunting and mostly in the forest you can find wild boars, hinds, stags, deer, partridges, pheasants, and rabbits. There are also many foxes but no more Wolves.
When we arrive in the village of Pierrefonds, I show Glenda the castle which is at the top of a hill.
- Waouh ! me dit-elle.
Wow! She says. It is very big! Thatâs wonderful. You are lucky to have castles like that. In Australia, it does not exist!

Yes, indeed, it is true that it is huge. And it is particularly beautiful as it is a medieval castle that was rebuilt in the 19th century. I will explain you the story of this beautiful fortified castle if you come to see me.
In front of the castle, there is a beautiful view of the village. Itâs very typical.

Now itâs time to go home because we have guests tonight! We must prepare the âamuse-boucheâ. I prefer to say âamuse-gueuleâ, itâs maybe less elegant but so French!

A trĂšs bientĂŽt.
See you soon!
