I have come across a number of short phrases or expressions but I have never seen an enormous compilation of such a very useful phrasebook like “Modern French Phrasebook”. I find the phrasebook as an ‘essential ingredient’ for my French study. I used to struggle to say “Say hi to …… for me” but now «Tu diras bonjour à ……. de ma part» has become very handy.

I’ve been struggling to learn French for years and have used several of Camille’s products and many lessons from her repertoire with satisfaction. The phrasebook is excellent for learning pronunciation, vocabulary and the little tools needed to get by. There’s a good structure to it and she gives links to pick up help on weak points as you go along. Bravo.

I find the French Today new Modern French Phrasebook useful and practical.
These are phrases you can use everyday, whether you are traveling to a French-speaking country or if you are just trying to improve your knowledge of the language. Camille offers two versions, one is the enunciated phrases, which are helping me with my pronunciation, and the modern version, which is a bit faster and probably what you would be hearing if you were in France or any other French-speaking country. There is a pause after each phrase so you can practice saying it yourself.
I am a fan of the French Today audiobooks in general. I have tried other methods but I always go back to French Today.

Of course it’s great- who doesn’t like free stuff?! It represents so many hours for you both of coming up with phrase after key phrase that will be invaluable to any traveller (remember those days?) or student, especially when there’s no internet access for Google translate. Also, it’s more personal having come from the French Today team.

This is super helpful. I love the fact that it is recorded at two speeds (the slower speed being better for my present level) but it is great to then listen to the quicker version once I’ve grasped the context. Camille speaks very clearly and so is easy to understand. I especially like that I can use my earphones and listen to the recordings anywhere and at any time of day to suit me. As with many things in life timing is everything. i downloaded the phrase book with intentions of studying it and then became infected with the Covid virus, which zapped my strength for a while and diverted my attention. I was 80% recovered in three or four days, and since then have recovered fully as far as i can tell. I have spent the time since playing catch up on other task. i hope to get to spend more time with the phrase book soon. Thank you for creating it, and all you do.

I gave the Phrase Book a Four out of Five rating. I think it is well developed with many useful phrases. I have only one issue which is that some of the translations, while being no doubt appropriate, are not aligned to the corresponding phrase.
Here is one simple example:

Merci de votre confiance et à bientôt sur Air France.
Call me picky but as a novice the phrase is actually or literally saying, “Thank you for your trust (in us)” rather than “Thank you for flying with us”.
For those who are more versed in the French language this is not likely an issue, but for many others who are grappling with learning French, the loose translation becomes confusing taking time to sort it out using dictionaries and other sources to ensure that we have the right meaning of the words. Clearly confiance is not about “flying with us”. Even though confiance is similar to confidence and trust in English and one can likely see this, it is a simple example. There are other sentences that are not so transparent.
Perhaps it would help to have the translations more aligned to the actual words used or having a sidebar with explanations for while such a word is used over some other word.
Having said all this, please accept my remarks as comments intended to help you make an already very good product even better. I think your publications are very good already, but with the offered suggestions I think your products would be easily five stars.
