It is so helpful to listen to the gliding and liaisons in the pronunciation. I am trying to use these more often. It is the same with the verb drill. I have to write it as it sounds to help with my listening which I have decided to concentrate on for a while. Also enjoying the stories. Great site!

Camille has a terrific program for understanding fast, spoken French. I’ve only just started but I can see the advantages already. I’ve seen many other online programs that purport to help you understand fast, spoken French but I realize now that most of them enunciate very clearly and use simple vocabulary. The FrenchToday method is obviously far superior. I intend to study with Camille every day.

This French Today phrasebook is unlike any other you will find. It uses phrases we use every day in France, with our friends, neighbours, shopping etc. Camille records each phrase at a slow speed so that you hear the pronunciation of each word clearly and then she records it at normal everyday speed, as you would hear it spoken by French people at the market, over coffee, in the street. For example: [ n’est-ce pas ] read out loud or spoken slowly by a non-French speaker would sound like [nest-ce-pah] but in real life French it sounds more like [ nesspah ]. This is what French Today audio books teach: the difference between written French, correct pronunciation and real life French, the French you here spoken every day in the street. Fantastic product! It goes way beyond the classic, traditional phrases you might learn in school or any other phrase book. Camille articulates superbly and gives so many different real life ways of saying everyday things – you can learn the typical expressions and phrases that a native French speaker would use. It is superbly organised for quick reference to the topic you’re looking for. Don’t think you would already know this stuff – Camille’s phasebook will add to any language student’s knowledge.

Thank you so much for the Modern French Phrasebook. I have been reading, practicing and sharing some of the phrases with my husband. This would have been particularly helpful when we first moved to France in 2014. I will be sharing it with family and friends in the U.S.. Everything Camille and Olivier do is great. The Modern French Phrasebook is another indicator as to how much they love teaching French and how much they adore their customers. They have much to offer, and a lot of it is free.
Since I have been a customer I have downloaded two free offers from them. (one being the Modern French Phrasebook) Add to that the almost weekly free lessons via email or from visiting their website and you soon come to understand that this is their passion. they truly want you to learn.
I will definitely order from them again, and again. The French verbs and the poetry audio lesson are on my list.
