I can’t explain, even to myself, why I love this audiobook so much. Poetry is not my thing! Wouldn’t French poetry (sometimes from very long ago) be way outside my area of interest? Somehow it’s nothing short of miraculous to start with a poem I can’t begin to understand, to hear all of the explanations, and to emerge just a short time later with a nearly complete comprehension of the work. Camille’s level of analysis is truly remarkable. I marvel at how clearly she presents abstract and complex concepts. I’ve been listening to French Today audiobooks for more than a year, always loving how the process of listening hard and considering matters of vocab. and grammar all seems to massage my brain. With the focus on poetry, the analytical aspect works my mental muscles in an extra way, one that’s deeply fulfilling. I will be very sad when this audiobook ends!

This Poetry book is priceless; and it seems that poetry is one of Camille’s fortes among her many other fortes and teaching talents. I adore how Camile organizes her teaching the poems and discussing the authors. This book is la crème de la crème.

This poetry is such a pleasant way to learn French and the audio is easily understandable and gives such a lovely insight into the rhythm of the language. I am so glad I decided to get this . . . a unique and joyful and less stressful to improve listening and in fact speaking skills.

I love this book! It’s so interesting. I listen first a couple of times to improve my listening. I can usually understand most of it. Then I read it to make sure while listening to the audio again.

I’ve only done the first two poems so far. So I’m looking forward to the rest of them.

Camille reads the poems so clearly and analyses them line by line. Then gives a short resumé of the poet’s life.

It’s such a good introduction to French Culture.
And improving my aural comprehension in an interesting way at the same time. I highly recommend Easy French Poetry!

Great resource! The analytic content is very insightful and enabled me to appreciate even more the poems Camille has chosen. Her voice is easy to listen to and her speaking pace is just right to read out loud along with her.

They say the aim of art is to enlighten, entertain and educate and Camille has created a fabulous piece of art. I only wish there was a volume two!

If learning is fun it is so much easier. Camille’s clear diction, explanations, and repetition make French poetry so interesting and useful. I am not able to learn the poetry because of my age but I still appreciate the beauty of it and pick up a few phrases which broaden my vocabulary and her love of nature brightens my life. How better to learn the names of flowers and birds than through poetry. The poems follow a natural sequence from the very ancient to the modern and are a good choice, not too long nor too complicated. This audio book is a good companion to her travel blogs and her fairy tales are really interesting even for an adult. Carry on Camille.

Super bien expliqué et très clair. La poésie, pour moi, a toujours été un peu absconse … je la comprends mieux maintenant. Merci.

The poems selected are wonderful examples to use for pronouncing French correctly and for learning about the various poets in the audio book. I thought the poetic analysis was very good too! Highly recommended!!

It is really a joy to listen to this beautifully spoken French (and English). The blogs that I receive frequently are very interesting and helpful. I’m Dutch so I learn French and English at the same time.
