I have had a few lightbulb moments already. Allegedly, I know nearly 9000 words on LinqQ but that’s or no use unless you have the glue to stick it all together and as importantly, the reasoning behind it.
I study neuroscience and how we learn and I’m trying to work out why it is that this method is so much better. The retention levels are so much better than either reading or audiobooks or flash card systems like Anki.
If I had 1€ for every book and cd I have in my library we could buy a house in Normandy.
Whoever designed the app chapeau you them. It works, it’s very convenient to go backwards and forwards and the modern French speed an absolute must.
I think I have seen and used every system from free to expensive. This is simply the best I have used.

I have tried several other methods, but it is definitely French Today that is working best for me. I have friends living in the south of France, and my wife and I want to make Brittany a regular holiday destination. I would like to be able to understand and converse at a basic level with the local people, and I feel that French Today, with its emphasis on the way modern French is spoken, gives me the best chance of success. I love listening to Camille’s audiobooks. I have been studying French for four years and although the grammar is hard, it is manageable. I find listening and understanding the French language really taxing though and that is why these book are great. Camille reads in two different speeds and one can listen over and over.
