I bought ALL the levels figuring although Intermediate now,
I’m sure there are things in the Beginners which I don’t know and since I’ve been loving Camille’s videos I was sure I’d get to the Advanced level.
As I figured they would be, those books are wonderful, clearly explained, thus teaching me a lot.
I’m looking at this as a ‘wonderful purchase’ toward fluency in French.

I am enjoying the French Today series SO much! Repetition/practice is very important, but can become tiresome after a while. French Today makes the practice more varied and therefore more sustainable, with interesting stories that feature very usable vocabulary. I have studied French since high school (a LONG time ago), and I can read French fairly well, with a dictionary nearby for unfamiliar vocabulary. But understanding spoken French has always been problematic. French Today has changed that for me! I have been working with it for only about 6 weeks, but my understanding and speaking have noticeably improved.
I plan to be in France (including Brittany ;D) this summer, and I am feeling much more prepared now than I was when I started. With several more months to go, I’m sure I’ll be justifiably even more
    confident then! Merci, French Today!!

I am really enjoying working with this teaching material. It is varied, interesting and funny – which helps sustain interest and motivation. The theoretical explanations are very clear. Also the two speaking styles (traditional French vs ‘modern’ French) help a great deal – as one of the biggest challenges to learning French is that the French speak so fast!

    Highly recommended!

I discovered the French Today website about 5 years ago. At the time, I was searching for an explanation on the use of rencontrer and retrouver. The information I found on the French Today website was by far the best explanation I had been able to find (online or in text books). I was impressed and I have subsequently subscribed to French Today ever since. The quality and quantity of information available (generally for free) on this website is amazing. The Newsletters are great: topical, reliable, diversified. Without fail, I read (and/or listen) to them in their entirety. I have purchased almost all the French Today audiobooks. They are, without exception, terrific. In the eight audiobooks in the À Moi Paris series, each chapter begins with a story (French in the audio but with full English translations in the transcript) which is then followed by a Study Guide that includes excellent presentations on selected grammar points and expressions covered in the story text. In each case, the Study Guide and accompanying exercises constitute a perceptive choice of topics for in-depth analysis and discussion. Both the text of the story and the linguistic analysis in the accompanying Study Guide provide a progressive and logical development for learners of French. Because I am currently listening to À Moi Paris Level 3 once again, I refer the reader, just as an example, to Chapters 11 and 15 in that audiobook. In these chapters, the focus of the discussion is on the use of (i) ça, c’est and il/elle est and (ii) y and en, respectively. The Study Guide and examples constitute in my opinion one of the best, if not the best, introduction and explanation to these subjects. Camille really is to be congratulated on her development of all the material that she has made available through the French Today website and audiobooks. I have not found their equal anywhere else on the internet. Having lived in the USA for many years (I think it was about 13 years), Camille’s command of English is excellent. This is really important because it means she knows the potential pitfalls for native English speakers and she has an in-depth and accurate understanding of the differences (in terms of vocabulary, grammar, expressions and sentence structure) between the two languages. I have great respect and trust in the information Camille provides and my confidence simply continues to increase as the years go by.

By far the best investment you will make. I have worked with multiple courses including Rosetta Stone, the complete Pimsleur courses, and many others – none are as packed full and complete. You get listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary and you can use it for developing writing and translating skills. Camille’s voice is a delight: clear and authentic. And the app that delivers the material was developed by her husband, Olivier. It’s awesome and works so well, keeping your place as you return to the material again and again. For your listening, it has a toggle: “enunciated” or “modern french”. It stores all of your purchases in the one French Today app. I consider myself at intermediate level, and it took me 2 months to thoroughly complete L3 (23 lessons); it contains that much material. I’m starting L4, and will eventually complete L1 – L8. I just added the Verb drills and stories.

This is the best French course ever. Olivier and Camille understand the problems of learning the French language, and they build up your learning with detail and clarity, at the same time keeping it light. With all the free audiobooks they offer and the helpful regular newsletter, I have never known such generosity and caring from any company. I have a bookshelf of French courses, there’s no comparison, this is the best, also the assistance with the technology and language problems is second to none. Thank you both.

Thus far this has been the most beneficial learning method for me. Although I have not yet needed any direct assistance, the fact this is available is reassuring. In summary, I highly recommend this learning method.

I have been studying French for almost 50 years (Yes I am a woman of a certain age). One of my French friends tells me not to say this to people because they will think that I’m stupid. This is because while she can understand what I say in French, I rarely understand what she says in French—even after 50 years of trying. Most French learners recognize that the French speak very fast with lots of slang, and we just don’t understand them. But this year I bought A moi Paris and discovered a whole new approach. FINALLY someone realized how desperately we francophiles need to hear the language spoken in a way it truly is by the French. Bravo Camille and Olivier for this brilliant method ! Et un grand merci de votre nouvelle étudiante en Californie!!

I really enjoy learning this way – hearing French spoken by French speakers is so necessary for communicating. My daughter-in-law is French and when I meet up with her parents (who speak no English at all), I’m very happy to speak in French but then have difficulty understanding their replies due to their fast speaking and use of idioms etc. This audiobook is helping me get used to hearing French ‘as she is spoke’! Thank you.

Excellent product, both for material content and for ease of use.

My only challenge is that Camille “speaks” for all the characters. I’m used to having different voices (male and female).
