I left it far too long to purchase my first audio books, levels 3 and 4! I was reluctant to spend more money on an online course having tried others – some good and some bad!! But, of course, you don’t know if the method/style suits you until you have purchased it! I urge you to try the free lesson and really tune in to it. It is only a taste of what is to come.
I am seriously impressed with these audio lessons and stories. So much so that I really enjoy going back over them so as not to miss ANYTHING! (I rarely re-read or re-listen to anything being always keen to get on to the next thing). The content is really valuable because even if the setting/story doesn’t directly relate to you or interest you (I love the story, by the way, and I am an English middle aged woman!) the grammatical phrases and vocabulary can be adapted to nearly every conversation you will have in your daily life. The more I listen, the more I appreciate French Today’s method.
Honestly, French Today is the next best thing to having a one to one teacher. It’s worth every penny.

Began studying your courses a number of years ago and discovered it was a great new approach to learning French. The stories seem so true to life and unlike many other ‘French courses’, take you right inside family life as if you were actually there, which really helps to keep the interest alive. Even though I’m only half-way through Level 4 I’ve just recently purchased the next one, Level 5 and really love the new ‘all-in-one format’. Great family-friendly business and a fantastic support service. Keep up the good work Camille and Olivier!
Kind regards.

Easily the best French audio book I’ve come across. I am glad it’s related to modern day French and not traditional French. All the audio books until now have helped me improve my basic understanding of the book. I have recommended this book to quite a few ppl based on my experience. Merci beaucoup Camille.

I’ve been studying French off and on for a long time, and French Today audiobooks are among the best learning tools I’ve used. My current priority is on listening comprehension, which I often find difficult, especially when it’s spoken fast. And these audiobooks fit nicely with that goal. I recently finished Level 4, which improved my understanding long spoken dialogs. A real plus is that it introduced a lot of idioms–something that seems relatively rare to come across elsewhere. And the inclusion of common short phrases and the use of informal sentence structures often heard in conversation, but not usually taught, also added to my grasp of spoken dialog. On top of all that, the lesson were enjoyable.

I submitted a question about the correct words to use in a specific social situation. Camille answered within a few hours and not only provided the answer, but also explained how American and French practices differ. She gave me insight into the reasons for the differences, which was a good cultural lesson for me. I thought it was very nice of Camille to take the time to write out the answer, rather than sending me a link. FrenchToday’s service has exceeded my expectations, and I will certainly continue to shop here.

Thank you Camille for French Today. I have found your audio book series to be invaluable. Your tuition is clear and concise. I also appreciate your Unique French Tips and enjoy receiving the helpful information within these. The learning does not feel in any way arduous, in fact the reverse, it is fun. I appreciate your hard work very much.

J’apprends quelque choses chaque jour.
Bien cordialement,
Joan Henry

The 4th book was the first “A moi” audio book I bought some years ago and it was exactly what I needed to inspire me and challenge me in my French studies. My weakness was conversation and listening comprehension even after years of studies in high school and college. This method addresses both in an incredibly efficient and interesting way! I love that the conversation is recorded in two speeds. I would use the “slow” speed and just listen first several times to understand as much as possible (very important if you’re trying to improve listening, you need to challenge your ears!). Then I’d read the story and translation, see what I misunderstood and then re-listen and repeat the phrases. I would then progress to “street” once I felt comfortable with the story and understood it. Now at Level 7, I’m proud to say I don’t even need to hear the “slow” speed, I can understand most of the “street” version right away (even if I don’t understand all vocabulary, I can understand the context)! I love the stories, and what really hooked me to this series was in the 3rd chapter, when the characters discuss Chinese grapefruit and its texture. I was astonished because 1) the French call it the same thing (un pamplemousse chinois) and 2) I have had this very conversation in English multiple times during my life with my friends as my grandma grew Chinese grapefruits. I just love that each chapter is full of real topics that I would want to talk about with others in real life conversations!

I’ve been through Level 1 (quickly), 2 & 3 (in detail). Your books have been a game changer for me. I started studying French as a retirement project 6 years ago, on my own with some help from a retired French teacher from the school where I taught. I had some experience from high school, but not good teaching. I tried again at the French Library (Boston) about 30 years ago and then a several classes at Harvard Extension, but I just couldn’t keep up and teach, so I put it on my retirement list.
My weakness is hearing and understanding, and working with your audio books has been just what I needed!! I have no intention of going to France; I just study because I love the language and I like the challenge. It IS a challenge as I am dyslexic and words don’t come easily! I can read and understand pretty well, but the aural understanding has eluded me until I found your books. THANK YOU!!!

I’ve been trying to relearn French for some years and have tried out several different audio books and podcasts. French Today is by far the best. This was the first of the À Moi Paris audiobooks that I bought (bundled with À Moi Paris Level 4). I loved it so much that I quickly bought the next bundle and most of Camille’s other audio books. I’ve found them fantastic – Camille explains grammar points really well, the study guides are brilliant and her accent and enunciation is so clear that I’m finding my French accent is getting noticeably better! The stories are fun and engaging and pack in a lot of vocabulary and grammar almost without you noticing. I’d recommend extremely highly!!

I’ve been trying to relearn French for some years and have tried out several different audio books and podcasts. French Today is by far the best. This was the second of the À Moi Paris audiobooks that I bought (bundled with À Moi Paris Level 3). I loved it so much that I quickly bought the next bundle and most of Camille’s other audio books. They are brilliant – Camille explains grammar points really well, the study guides are really comprehensive, and her accent and enunciation is so clear that I’m finding my French accent is getting noticeably better! The stories are fun and engaging and pack in a lot of vocabulary and grammar almost without you noticing. I listen to them over and over again – after all, repetition is the key! French Today is the best resource for adult learners of French that I’ve encountered.
