I find the French Today audiobooks really helpful in improving my learning and understanding of the French language. I usually first listen to the storey in “Slow” mode while simultaneously looking at the French text. I find it so useful that you can turn the english text translation on and off as you need to. I then struggle through the grammar, which for me is difficult, even if Camille does an excellent job of explaining it. I then listen to the storey again in “Street French” mode and hopefully understand most of it. This multi method mode of going through the material is what makes these audio books unique and really worth purchasing.

Having spent a month in France in language immersion, discovering French Today and A Moi Paris has been an invaluable tool to help me keep up my ear attuned to the language and provides me with ample opportunity to practice out loud (usually in my car to and from work, with the bonus of no fear of embarrassment about my pronunciation or accent!). The varying levels of enunciation are fantastic so I usually start with the slowest/most enunciated to get it right, and then change to the modern french version when I’m ready.
I found the english explanations invaluable,easy to understand, and so much quicker than trying to laboriously explain a concept in french, to someone who doesn’t speak french (like my immersion class). That was one of my biggest bugbears in my immersion classes: if the teacher had just switched to english for a quick explanation, we could have saved a lot of time and been able to progress faster. As Camille often says “repetition is the key”. The blog hints, tips and back stories are interesting and fun to learn. Olivier is a delight to deal with. If you are thinking of learning french, try it. I think you’ll love it. Highly recommended.

These audiobooks are such an amazing resource. Through the series, I’ve gotten to practice grammar, writing, vocabulary, reading, and most importantly, comprehension, which has improved so much for me! Not only the story line, graduated in difficulty through levels 1 to 8, but also the excellent features of slower/faster audio speeds and the show/hide english translation and the ability to rewind/fwd 15 secs etc. Brilliant !
De plus, the overall excellent language training lessons alongside the story chapters. Not only that, but the ease of downloading and using the material on mobile phone is outstanding. Bravo to the person who constructed the website.
Finally, I wish I had discovered Camille earlier, before I spent a year on numerous fragmented internet french language sites.

I have used MANY of the French today products. They are well honed by a good teacher and I am well pleased with all of them. For me they are well constructed and presented.
