I can write reasonably well in French and I can read French reasonably well but understanding spoken French is a major problem. I speak like a ‘text book’ which amuses my French friends but I struggle to understand their ‘casual’ French and that is the major problem!

I am originally from Brazil, I speak portuguese, I live in Australia for 40yrs, i am 67 years old, I’ve learned english on my own, never been to a school to learn it. Have traveled around the world a few times.
Two years ago I decided to learn French, so I went to Alliance Francaise, and did a 6 months course there, I was not impressed by the quality of the teaching there. So I started learning on you tube, videos, films, French news, etc.
Then I found your course a couple months ago.
I have to tell you, I have learned so much since then, that I wouldn’t have learned if I have been studying at AA in two years.
Your modern French made it much easier for me in every way possible,
I am learning directly from my native language to French, there are many similarities, that makes it much easier for me to understand your teaching style.
I think you killed the AA traditional methods. They are totally obsolete! Soon AA has to close down or change they methodology, that’s my opinion.
I want to learn and maybe teach French language like you one day.

The entire À Moi Paris series and accompanying books are a treasure trove of material. The step-wise method of learning makes it easy for the student to start slowly and build. Since I purchased and used all 8 levels of À Moi Paris and all the Verb Drills and the Adjectives books, this review covers all of these. Camille has put a massive amount of work into this material and it is filled with the kind of French you actually will need to learn to speak. She includes a huge number of slang and even vulgar expressions (face it…that is how we all talk…and you need to know these in French) and she covers every verb tense, all those pesky French pronouns, positive and negative sentence structure, indirect speech, cause/consequence, hypothetical speech, and everything else you need to know. I used her series to take me from knowing very little French to just below a level B1 (the level one needs to demonstrate to become a French citizen). If you work with this material and apply yourself in every chapter, you can get to a B1/B2 (Intermediate) level too! It is a lot of work, true. But if you want to really learn French as it is spoken, À Moi Paris will help you do it! Bon courage!! Michael

Over the years I have tried numerous methodologies for learning French. From text books, to classroom, to web-based courses. My success in learning to speak, and developing an “ear” for the French language was minimal at best.
This year I discovered French Today. What a joy! Camille’s approach to learning French is so refreshing. In just a few short months, I’ve learned more French from Camille’s French Today course than from all the other courses combined. I can’t wait to make my next trip to France. In addition to the A Moi Paris Audio Book I have several other products from French Today. All are thoughtfully written and well designed. The material is fresh and up to date. There is so much material available for the French language learner that it can be hard to know what material to invest in but French Today’s materials are a great value both as to expense and what they can contribute to your learning experience.

L1 is great. I use it from my phone and computer. Learning along with a native French speaker and the ability to control the speed sets this study material apart from everything else. Learning French is much easier and more convenient with this series of audio books.

Frenchtoday audio-learning is hands down the best way to learn the French language. Camille delivers a combination of traditional teaching (can’t be avoided :-) and “real world” strategies that accelerate the learning process.
The audio, at least for L1, is largely in French with smatterings of English serving as way-points along the exciting journey to your new language. It forces you to listen and concentrate on the spoken word in order to understand what is being communicated.
Just when you feel as if you’re drowning in Français, Camille’s gentle voice throws a life line in English to keep your head above water. She also offers many tips and plenty of advice providing insight into this wonderfully nuanced language. C’est vraiment super !
