I had an amazing week with Eliane and Benjamin at their home in the Somme region of northern France.
I was a bit worried before hand about how it would go as I am 15 and this was my first french immersion but they were so welcoming and patient that I felt at home straight away.
For me the most important thing to work on was my spoken french and Eliane helped me to do this by talking to me in French troughout the day.
This started at breakfast and then whilst we walked their beautiful dog Okami. I helped her make lunch most days and she would explain what she was doing as we went along. The fact that we were speaking french all day unless I didnāt understand something really helped to improve my confidence and vocabulary.
After lunch we visited many different places ; we visited Amiens (the cathedral there is amazing) and went to the zoo there, we visited some of the Somme battlefields and memorials and we looked around Roye and the surrounding area wich was really nice.
I had the pleasure of meeting both Elianeās and Benjaminās parents wich eventhough it made me nervous enabled me to talk to more people.
