Here is my own lively rendition of these eight very famous French tales. I tell them here using relatively simple French, in a very lively way, the same way I told them to my young daughter, the same way my mother told them to me. Each tale comes with a French transcript and English translation.

I was able to enjoy this audio book through a special promotion during the Covid-19 quarantine. It was truly a delight. French Today audiobooks are always such a great learning tool, but I especially enjoyed this one because I got to hear the classic versions of many fairytales that I only knew Americanized versions of.
Camille has such a beautiful voice and pronounces everything so clearly that it is very easy to follow. I look forward to my next French Today audiobook.

What a treat to listen to these classic French fairy tales en français and spoken in Camille’s mellifluous tones! It’s great fun hearing stories that I know well in English and I very much appreciate that I am able to show or not show the simultaneous English text translation. I found myself leaving the translation hidden most of the time and only turning it on to check a word or a phrase. And, for the stories that I don’t know well, I can listen with the translation on and then listen on another day with the translation off, paying closer attention to how the scenes are described in French. The free downloadable app for my iMac makes it easy to control the playback of the story, allowing me to jump to a particular chapter, for instance. Bravo Camille and Olivier for this wonderful learning experience that is both ancient and dear to me and wonderfully new in how it is presented. Merci!

Well done and I appreciate the free access during this time. However at L2 in the French Today program I find these too advanced for me, especially when only using audio.
There are many uses of tenses, here not yet studied at L2 and unfamiliar nouns and adjectives. The new words can be gleaned from following along, but that does not work for new tenses, which I find need to be studied methodically.
