I started studying French a year ago for pleasure, and I am starting my intermediate studies. I use a variety of study methods to keep things interesting so that I stay motivated. I started using the French Today verb drills and the first audiobook very early in my studies. They have been so helpful both in learning French vocabulary and in learning to pronounce things correctly. Recently I received a compliment from my French teacher about how clearly I speak French – she says I am very understandable. I attribute this to the time that I have spent with the French Today verb drills and audiobooks.

There are a lot of people on the internet trying to sell things to French learners, and some of them are a waste of money and don’t actually work. French Today is different. The verb drills and audiobooks are very useful and can be used in a variety of ways to help you study – as Camille explains in the introductions to everything. Using the instructions provided by French Today, I have not had any problems using the materials on my computers (both Apple and Windows) and on my iPhone and iPad. It has been easy to use them on all of my devices. Now that French Today has its own app, I suspect it will be even easier.

Thank you Camille and Olivier for the work you do through French Today!

A well structured and very clear explanation of basic French grammar, concentrating on the present tense and the little words that give learners a lot of difficulty in any languate. The integration between a really interesting story and the lessons is a real strength, as is the choice of speeds with which the story is read. The emphasis on ‘street French pronunciation’ is great. This whole series of audiobooks is a fantastic resource for early intermediate students trying to progress to the next stage. Many mysteries of the French language are clarified in a way that is difficult to find elsewhere.

I was a French major in college and proceeded into an entirely different direction for employment and pleasure. I am refreshing my French after almost 50 years and find the approach being used in the audiobooks and email communications to be highly practical and beneficial. Thanks for doing such a thoughtful and friendly effort toward teaching French as it is spoken today.

It is exactly what I need – everyday conversation. I tried things like Bookbox and they use tenses that are not used in everyday conversation like passé simple so it was frustrating.

I am living in the French speaking part of Switzerland and need to have practice with conversation. I listen to the slow speed, then I listen again sentence by sentence and repeat it out loud. Then I use it for dictation and write what I heard.

I had to guess at which level I should begin, but I must have guessed right. I always understand what Marie and her friends are talking about, and after listening several times I understand nearly every word they say. Camille is a very expressive reader, so the recordings are interesting to hear even when you’ve heard them a few times already. It’s an encouraging way to learn to French.

I came across this site when I was searching for a French grammar book. I noticed they have books for verbs, but they have no grammar book.
I emailed Olivier that I perfectly understand French, but my grammar needs some improvement and I don’t see any grammar book. What he said made me decide to buy all their books. He replied: Since you fully understand French, it is cheaper for you to get a grammar book from Amazon. Somehow, I liked his honesty, instead of going to Amazon, I bought all their books. This was my best investment. I need to say, listening to A Moi Paris 1,2,3,4 my grammar improved a lot.

I have so enjoyed all the books and lessons prepared for the A Moi Paris series and the other books that are available on the website. A lot of incredible effort has been put into telling an interesting and enjoyable story and yet presenting new vocabulary and ways of saying things without overwhelming the learner. Whereas most language lesson stories are boring and dull, these stories are about todays young people, who are believable characters, speaking the way the French converse and not something out of a dictionary. I also like that the story is read at normal speed the way people speak and then a second section repeats the same chapter in a slower speed. At the same time you can read the text to enable you to absorb exactly what was said. At the end of each chapter is a vocabulary section and some questions and answers. I have downloaded the course and put the mp3 files onto my iPod and installed the accompanying pdf files with the written text onto my iPad so that wherever I am I can read and study another chapter.

I can highly recommend all of the books that are available.

After taking a while to decide which Audiobook would best suit my level, I decided to go for the the À Moi Paris Level 4 Audiobook, as I wanted more advanced tenses. I’m really pleased I did. It matches my level perfectly. I have the recording playing in my car constantly, and like Camille states, there is hours and hours of material for you to study, or you can just listen to the story for fun. The whole product is very well thought out and presented nicely. I was a little worried at first that I might have missed something by going straight to level 4, but this was not the case, you can just dive straight in! I use the product every single day, and will do so for a long time. In addition to my evening classes, it is the perfect compliment, and I have no doubt it would be really beneficial if it was my only source of learning. I’m already looking forward to Level 5, and am seriously considering an immersion course!!
