The authors approach is very effective. She mixes multiple dimensions into the learning approach. Books are recorded at different speeds, and the street French option is very useful to learn how real French people actually speak. The exercises between chapters are useful as well. I’ve been learning French on and off for years and I’ve never got to the point of being anywhere near fluent. After looking at the weekly emails with all the great tips from Camille I decided to go back to the beginning of my French studies and start over with purchasing A Moi Paris. I can’t believe that this is the first time I’ve come across Street French – no wonder I’ve always had great difficulty understanding the French used on television and films!
Even revising a lot of basic French Camille has given me more relevant information on spoken French than in all the text books I’ve studied over the years.

I had been studying French at an adult education school one day a week for 5 years and not making much progress. Many other students feel the same. Now, using the French Today course from the beginning, I have far better listening and speaking skills. The story is interesting and enjoyable. And the grammar is simpliy explained. I’m not computer savvy but it is so easy to use. I only wish I found French Today sooner.

The audiobooks are very clear and easy to follow. For myself, able to listen to and read the script at the same time is an effective way to learn a new language. Even though there are many audiobooks out in the market, the à Moi Paris series has a storyline that is interesting and it covers day-to-day encounters. The books also give you tips for some tricky pronunciations. I highly recommend these books to those who struggle in French pronunciation and who do not find traditional classroom learning is effective to try on this series.

The audio book is wonderful. I love the way I can play little bits at a time when I have some time. Camille explains things in such a clear way. Other apps are based solely on repetition and don’t explain the points of grammar at all.

As beginner, French can be overwhelming to learn. Camille makes it easier by breaking down all the components of the language. French Today is NOT the typical classroom French but the lessons are designed to be practical for everyday, street French. Text book French is not what you hear in France!
French Today gives the student enough information to understand grammar and sentence structure (textbook stuff) but does so for how it is spoken. Camille teaches how to pronounce French, which I highly recommend starting on the lesson first. Most students, including me, don’t pronounce properly, so being understood by a French person will not happen. You will sound French if you follow her lesson.
All lessons provide different speeds so listening does not become frustrating. Learning to hear normal speaking speed will come over time, and the lessons provide this opportunity.
Finally, Camille always tells us the key to learning: repetition! The cost is low and definitely worth it. You can learn French with French Today!

I had studied French in high school many years ago and love the language. I began anew last January with the A Moi Paris audiobook series. I have completed the first two levels and am making progress. I appreciate the weekly newsletter and the information in the audio books and emails about grammar and modern usage!
I love your technique of learning the language through audio. I have two grand-children ages 4 and 6 years old. I saw them pass from babies who could not speak (naturally) to children who communicate very well in English without using written material. It is truly amazing that they seem to learn so easily in an audio only environment while I have more difficulty learning French with the traditional methods. But, with the A Moi Paris audiobooks, I find that I am am learning more quickly. I use the verb drills as well and find them very helpful!
