I have tried several French learning apps/websites/tools and frenchtoday is far and away the best I have found. I have a few friends who speak fluent French and I studied French in High School waaaaay back in the 60s……😱, yes I am 72 and studying French again. I love to learn and I want to be able to speak to them in French. It is slow going but when I commit myself, I find that frenchtoday is a great way to learn and I love working out the weekly emails as it makes me feel like I am really learning French as French people speak and not as a textbook tells me.
One of my goals is to visit France and be able to converse with native French people and I believe frenchtoday will help me do that.

I admire the immense amount of effort put into this book. The two speed options are incredibly helpful for progress. The quality, functionality, and ease of use of the book in the app is so impressive. I’m delighted with it.
What makes French Today my primary source of all things French aside from the unique way Camille teaches French as it is spoken today (“with all the silent letters, liaisons, and modern glidings”) is the social connection with Camille and Olivier, and their region of Brittany. I’ve been a couple of times but not for many years so I enjoy the YouTube videos where Camille takes us with her, out and about around Paimpol and beyond. Camille’s patient and happy demeanour is truly engaging and every video makes me smile. I am looking forward to returning to Brittany. I love the Phrasebook. It provides a great way to practice and test your french one phrase at a time. The audio gives you plenty of time to provide your answer in French when prompted with the phrase in English. And, you can listen to the answer provided at an enunciated speed or “modern” speed.
