The good explanations and text is exactly what I was looking for. My French language comprehension has been much improved since listening and reading this audiobook.

I had originally planned to start with 7 and 8, as I am fairly competent conversationally, but figured I could use a refresher for grammar, so I purchased 5 and 6. Wow! It is so helpful! So now I think I’m actually going to end up buying 3 and 4 as well. The explanations are so clear and thorough, while also providing details concisely. The storyline is fun and engaging, and it is clear how much effort has gone into connecting the content (vocabulary, tenses, grammatical syntax) with the lessons. I have done many different products for learning language over the years, and in my opinion, this is an extremely high quality, useful language learning program.

A wonderful product and highly recommended!

Love this audio book series! I thought I was pretty strong on French grammar (one of those students who memorized every rule from the textbooks and can conjugate almost every tense), but even I learned new things. What really is revolutionary about these books is Camille’s explanations of French conversation: WHEN to use these verb tenses or expressions, not just how to form them. I’ve been told before by native French speakers that “What you say is grammatically correct but the French don’t ever say it that way”. So reading and hearing these verb tenses used within conversational context is so useful for building up my experience with the language so I can better “feel” what verb tense should be used.
For “A moi” Level 5, I particularly enjoyed Chapters 5 and 13-15. All the stories are interesting and I always learn new vocabulary and expressions, but I’ve re-read and recited Chapter 13 multiple times because I enjoy it so much, and talking about hairstyles in all the different verb tenses is surprising tricky to do!

The latest app is easy to use and much faster. I downloaded and unzipped it in about 5 minutes. I enjoy the story because my grand-daughters are the same age as the characters and have similar conversations in English. It was very easy to change from ‘slow’ to ‘street’ French. I had a small glitch with the app. Olivier came to the rescue and advised me to delete it and re-install it. As I am ‘ancien’ and not tech savvy his advice was very welcome and everything now works perfectly. I adore Paimpol to which I used to sail.
For several years, I have stayed with Suzanne and Peter at Jugon les lacs, who are excellent hosts of French today though Suzanne works you very hard.

Having already bought and studied AMP Levels 3&4, I soon brought this as a bundle with AMP Level 5 (and most of Camille’s other audio books). I’ve found them fantastic – Camille explains grammar points really well, the study guides are brilliant, and the stories are fun and engaging and pack in a lot of vocabulary and grammar almost without you noticing. These are the best audio books for adults learning French that I’ve come across (in several years of trying different ones out) and I’d recommend extremely highly!!

I can’t say enough good about Camille’s programme. Over the years I used her audiobooks (recently purchased Level7), incl. verb fundamentals and drills, working with adjectives, etc., to teach myself French. And teach myself I did, so much so that I have been able to help my kids with their school work (especially pronunciation!). The audiobooks are fun. I had the first two level study guides printed and spiral-bound, so I could write notes and highlight things whilst listening and reading. My son was using Level 5-6-7 as a junior/senior in high school. After all these years of learning with her, Camille’s voice feels “like family” (LOL). Now I need to find a similar programme for teaching myself Italian, then I’ll be content for a while. Oh, and the app just makes usage super easy. Again, I love Camille’s way of teaching. Fun way of learning real, usable French. And her website is a cornucopia of all things one would want to know about the French, both the language and the people/customs/way of life. I can easily spend hours discovering. (It’s funny how my brain works: I feel connected to her because when she lived in Boston, we were practically neighbours. Haha, not really, just a neighbouring state. But still…)

Excellently presented, easily absorbed and fun! It’s great to get beyond all the schoolbook stuff I had to memorize and learn some REAL French. Bravo Camille et Olivier!

French Today is a unique way to learn French. I am now up level 5 on A Mois Paris. The continuing story of the three girls keeps you interested. What I like are the Study Guides after every chapter that are relevant to the chapter you are reading and also at the right level for you. Give the sweet blogs from daughter Leyla a try, which have an authentic look with small corrections from ‘mom’, A bonus of French Today is the constant improving and updating the site and everything on the site always works, with IT it is not always the case with many sites. Finally the site has a great ‘family feel’, which of course is exactly how it is run. Geoff

I would like to thank you for the great learning tools you offer. I have purchased Six of your French Audio Books and am looking forward to your eight installment. I find the audio books easy listening and have them on in the car whenever I go anywhere. They have taught me a lot. I have tried most of the other providers such as Rosetta Stone, Michel Thomas, Pimsleur etc, and can say from experience, although they can be useful in wrote learning they are outdated and do not teach the way french is spoken today. Can I also say how useful your newsletters are, they are very informative giving insight into the little nuances of the french language. Keep up the great work. Kind Regards – Dean

First I found the audio booklets of poems that Camille did years ago, which I loved. In fact because I was intrigued by the difference between the French and the English translation, I found myself studying French poetry in a way I never had the patience for English poetry. Then I decided after two years of Duolingo, it was time to finally really learn the irregular verbs. The verb drills were so much more useful than any text because hearing the way the verbs are spoken is crucial to using them properly. Then I went on to A Moi Paris book 5. and it too is a really effective learning tool. I use the “street french” speed, although I stop and start a lot, just to get the feel for the way the language is really spoken. Thank you French Today for doing such a good job!

There are not enough *starts* to indicate the greatness of this resource!

I have been following Camille’s audiobook series from the beginning, recently adding levels 5 and 6 to my ‘bookshelf’, and I am really enjoying the progression. Compared to some of the lower levels, which ‘teach’ specific grammar structures (e.g. verb tenses, agreements, use of various pronouns, direct/indirect objects, etc), level 6 has a greater emphasis on vocabulary and expressions, while making use of the grammatical features that should already be familiar. What I particularly like about this series – in addition to the engaging story and characters – is that I can return to each chapter on many different levels. For example, I often listen to a chapter or two while walking the dog, using it largely as comprehension (in which case I don’t get too concerned if I don’t catch every nuance, so long as I can keep up with the gist of the story). Then I try to return to the topic in a more rigorous and studious manner later.

I use these audiobooks, the French Today website, and blog to supplement French classes that I have been attending for the past 18 months or so. On numerous occasions, if I am unsure about a particular language construction, I’ve found the answer is addressed in this content with a simple and practical explanation. I can’t recommend this series highly enough.
