Actually bought the whole series & working my way through. I learned French at school 30+ yrs ago, and wanted to brush up having forgotten a lot of vocabulary. I’m learning so much more than just vocab with FT. The systematic approach is helping me understand why & how as well as what to say, which is critical for adult learners. Congratulations on a great learning system.

I have taken many French classes through out the years and decided to give it another shot, so I wanted to begin from the beginning and I love it and I am learning so much more than the previous times I have tried . It’s not easy and there is alot of memorizing but it explains it all in a way I can understand . I will definitely continue with the next audio books when this one is finished.

I am a ‘low intermediate’ student. I’ve been studying French for two years (as an older student, for enjoyment). Along the way, I discovered French Today and love it. Camille’s books, verb drills, exercises, and pronunciation guide are great. There are many choices now where you can learn French (YouTube, books, websites) but only a few are truly substantial, well-crafted, and useful. French Today is a ‘go-to’ prime resource!

Camille has put a great deal of effort, knowledge, and thought into the teaching method and her materials. They are spot-on, easy to use, and a bargain (for what you get). Highly recommend you give her work a try.

This course is presented in a very personable way. And tips are given, and repeated, that aren’t really dealt with in formal studies of French. My last formal French class was 60 years ago, I’m 75 now,( a retired attorney) and this course has allowed me to at last learn aspects of the French language that I never really learned or got straight in the past. Definitely worth the money.

I really struggle with understanding spoken French (modern French or any other spoken French). This audiobook has helped enormously! The additional explanations and exercises are also very helpful. Great product! Highly recommended!

I have been studying French on my own for about a month, utilizing apps, YouTube videos, and the A Moi Paris Method Beginner series Audiobooks. I have found the Audiobooks to be a very valuable component of my learning and they have greatly facilitated my ability to speak and understand the language even in my early stage of learning. Although I just started I also purchased the Intermediate books because I am convinced that they will also be a very valuable learning tool when I reach that level.

By far the best investment you will make. I have worked with multiple courses including Rosetta Stone, the complete Pimsleur courses, and many others – none are as packed full and complete. You get listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary and you can use it for developing writing and translating skills. Camille’s voice is a delight: clear and authentic. And the app that delivers the material was developed by her husband, Olivier. It’s awesome and works so well, keeping your place as you return to the material again and again. For your listening, it has a toggle: “enunciated” or “modern french”. It stores all of your purchases in the one French Today app. I consider myself at intermediate level, and it took me 2 months to thoroughly complete L1 + L2; it contains that much material. I will eventually complete L1 – L8, and this year I just added the Verb drills and stories.

I am incredibly happy with this audiobook series. For 3.5 years, I’ve been trying to resurrect all the French I knew as a kid (I took it for 13 years and then forgot much of what I learned). I’ve tried working with language partners, taking French yoga classes via Zoom, and reading French books for learners. All of that has helped a little, but this series is a thousand times more effective. My favorite aspects:

    • The free audiobook was quite a generous gift to people trying to decide if the series was right for them. I started learning right away!
    • The stories are interesting, fun, and well written. I love how they build on each other—and how the characters tease each other.
    • I love that I have been able to start from scratch, relearning the basics and quickly advancing to more sophisticated material. It has been a relief to have someone break down a massive amount of information into small, digestible bits.
    • It’s terrific that each story has a new thematic focus in terms of vocabulary, as well as new grammar points.
    • I love the way Camille encourages us to speak out loud in French and to push past the fear of that. I do so while walking my dogs, and I’m sure I seem “folle,” but I don’t care!
    • I love how Camille has expert insight into what learners get wrong and how she warns us not to make the same mistakes. Nevertheless, she’s always respectful of learners. I don’t feel talked down to at all.
    • Despite all the French I was exposed to when I was young, I never heard “Je suis” pronounced the way Camille does. The emphasis on modern French pronunciation is invaluable.
    • No matter how basic or advanced the lessons are, there’s something for me to learn. And there’s a lot I already know. Realizing that makes me more confident.
    • The explanations are incredibly clear/logical. Maybe they’ll stick this time!
    • For me it’s essential to rely mainly on my ears, only glancing at the written material when I have a question. I am not terribly auditory, and I’ve spent far more time reading French than hearing it, so listening to an audiobook exercises my weakest muscles. And I’m so much stronger already!

I have spent many happy hours with these audiobooks, and I know I have many more to come. I can’t praise them highly enough, and I’ve already spread the word to friends. One sighed and said, “But where do you start? There’s just so much to relearn.” I told her that that’s what’s great about this series—someone has figured out how to organize the mess for us!

The only word of caution I would offer a prospective customer is that although this series is perfect for someone who has studied French in the past, it would not be suitable for someone who knows no French at all. That person would need to go much more slowly.
