Suzanne – Isobel review
Stayed in June 2019
Thank you so much Suzanne and Peter for an absolutely wonderful week – you are both hosts du premier ordre!
I arrived with some (a lot of?!) trepidation, as it is a very long time since I did any real studying, and I was worried about how I would cope with 3 hours study a day – and homework!
However, the time in class positively flew past – Suzanne, you are an amazing teacher: patient, understanding, flexible, very supportive – and I really appreciate how you go out of your way to find topics which interest your students. And your resources are amazing, you must have spent so much time, and worked so hard in compiling them. Even ‘les devoirs’ didn’t seem at all like studying as you had made such an effort to find topics which would interest me.
The outings to Dinan and the Ferme d’antan were very interesting, made even more so by your depth of knowledge of Breton history. Your love and enthusiasm for la Bretagne is obvious. It was great to meet the local community and to be able to participate in local activities: the Breton dancing, the choir, the quiz. And it has resurrected my interest in campaigning against pesticides – vive les coquelicots!
Et les discussions autour de la table étaient très agréables et vivantes et me donnaient l’opportunité de pratiquer (et répéter) mon français.
And Peter – ta cuisine me manque déjà ! En bref, from the warm welcome from Suzanne at the gare de Lamballe, jusqu’à mon depart – an amazing week which has flown past, it seems more like 2 or 3 days.
Only one problem – one week is definitely not enough!
Merci mille fois à vous deux et j’espère revenir. Au revoir (et pas ‘Goodbye’!)
