Raymonde – Marilouise review
Stayed in March 2019
I love Switzerland. I love the people, the scenery and the variety of venues to visit.
I made a return trip to Switzerland in March for another French immersion experience with Raymonde. I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience, so much that I was anxious to return.
In addition to being a terrific instructor, Raymonde is a gracious hostess and cook. I couldn’t wait to delight in her cooking. Raymonde prepares a variety of food, all of good quality, excellent taste, fresh, beautifully presented, and healthy. I looked forward to each day’s lunch. The meals were a highlight of my day! And Raymonde changed her recipes to accommodate my dietary needs. Another food-associated highlight was the trips to the tiny boulangerie in the next village, choosing the daily bread. Of course, I could order, but it had to be in French! Always good to practice in the real world!
The weather is mild this time of the year. Raymonde and I took many walks in the countryside. The trees were leafing and the flowers were in bloom. Our walks included French lessons. We also visited the beautiful coast of Lac Leman. Here we walked along the promenade, experiencing even more flowers and trees.
On my first trip, Raymonde and I did several local excursion. This trip my excursions went farther. Among the places visited were the Charlie Chaplin museum and the Alimentarium in Vevey. My favorite excursion was the day spent in Basal. We joined two of her friends for a visit to the Beyeler Art Museum for the Pablo Picasso exhibit, a walk thru old town, and lunch.
I am looking forward my next visit to Switzerland!
