Emilie – Peggy review
Stayed in September 2019
I can not imagine a more perfect week than the one I just spent with Emilie and her family. There are many reasons.
First of all, Emilie and her family were so welcoming. Her husband, David and daughter, Myrtille, offered kindness and warmth that made me feel like a part of the family from the first day. The view of the Pyrenees from the house was only one aspect of the beauty of the countryside.
Emilie created a program of activities that was tailored to my interest in history. and in the patrimoine français. We visited a Gallo Roman house site, and another day we went to the prehistoric cave at Gargas. Several days walked in the beautiful meadows in order to get fresh eggs or fresh vegetables and bread from neighboring farms.
Emilie’s language teaching skill was evident to me immediately, since she was able to quickly evaluate my level of spoken French. She picked out several grammar structures where I made the same mistake, and found exercises for me. In addition, I would write several pages of text describing each day, and Emilie and I went over them the next day. She made available a great amount of reading material about the region, thus I was able to learn more.
I have had a truly wonderful visit, and would recommend Emilie as an excellent teacher and hostess.
