Emilie – Agatha review
Stayed in November 2019
For a person who speaks almost no French, I was quite apprehensive about taking an immersion class in preparation for retiring to France.
The moment I met Emilie, I knew I had made the right choice. She was very patient and structured her classes to meet my beginners’ needs.
The two weeks went quickly because I had several opportunities to experience French country life, much different from my urban lifestyle in Florida. I attended a community school fundraising event, helped a farming co-op sort vegetables, experienced a chanting yoga class, traveled to Toulouse for the Christmas Market, and took several daily walks across the countryside.
However, one of most memorable experiences was making my own 65th birthday cake with a local baker. Not only was the cake delicious, we had many laughs playing charades with my very limited French and her limited English. It is a birthday I’ll never forget!
Emilie’s family very graciously joined in my celebration, and shared dinner with us every evening.
Because my husband speaks intermediate French, he was thrilled I took the class. I now feel much more comfortable speaking and learning more French with him!
